Citi Honors Dr Ava Eagle Brown with Prestigious Award
Today’s business world is more competitive than ever before and it is a rare find to locate a company that has both visions- and offers encouragement for future female talent. Citi is one of these incredible organisations, as they recognise women in professional roles and have empowered them by supporting the “We Are the City Rising Star Awards”.
Citi honoured Dr Ava Eagle Brown with the Entrepreneur Award, presented by Jane Karczewski, Managing Director at Citi within Strategic Risk Solutions, and Co-Chair of Citi Women in London. Her role encompasses client focus, results-oriented leadership and support of the young talent in the business world. An accomplished and respected leader in her specialised area of Solutions, and in Diversity, Ms Karczewski forges strong relationships and recognises excellence.
Sponsorship of the awards is part of Citi’s ongoing mission to provide an innovative network for women to achieve their full potential. Dr Brown’s work as an international speaker, author and transformation mindset coach complements the Citi strategy to create and reinforce a diverse workforce through the support of women in business.
The Rising Star awards were introduced to showcase the UK pipeline of female talent below management level and to create 100 female role models across 20 different industries and professions as well as celebrating the hard work and support of our Rising Star Champions and Company of the Year. The winners were narrowed down from over 1,250 nominations and were judged by a panel of 33 independent judges. Over 35,000 public votes were received for the 200 shortlisted nominees from around the world.
Dr Brown’s lifelong commitment as an inspirational leader has involved a long personal journey. The lessons that she has learned has given her the ability to rise from the ashes of devastation and share her knowledge so that she has helped so many to rewrite their own stories and be empowered to understand that the word ‘Impossible’ means ‘I’m Possible’. Her presentations have given hope to many women so that they can claim their best self. Ava’s style is a refreshing sense of transparency, authenticity, enthusiasm and an open armed sharing to welcome success for all.
There is a sense of logical balance between Dr Brown’s life work and the Citi global strategy in their focus on enabling women to thrive in a diverse meritocracy that demands excellence, initiative and courage. Ava promotes and encourages possibilities for women to hone their talents, claiming the lives that they were meant to live in abundance, joy, peace and success. Citi takes pride as a strong supporter of innovation and entrepreneurship through their strategic partnerships, comprehensive programs and innovative efforts in embracing new skills and new methods of working. Recognizing Dr Brown for this prestigious honour is a moment of synergy that is a fusion of matching philosophies and ideologies.
Ava’s ability to tap into each person’s inner talent and allow them to realise their potential is one of the key elements that she is so well-known for. Her presentations bring a sense of hope as well as opening doors for women of all levels, but especially for those that want to embark on an entrepreneurial journey. Dr Brown’s natural intuitive abilities allow her to connect with those that want to pursue their dreams and she shows them how they can accomplish them.
The Citi Foundation “Pathways to Progress” is a philanthropic effort to strengthen global talent by the active involvement of dedicated Citi volunteers. Their unique insight is followed by actions that support female entrepreneurs of the future as an important initiative that has proven to lead to economic growth on a global scale.
Cultural and ethnic diversity, combined with the empowerment of women to achieve their ultimate abilities is the shared philosophies of both Citi and Dr Ava Brown, and it is, therefore, no surprise that Citi recognised the connection and honoured Dr Brown with the Entrepreneur Award. This is the exact definition of the term ‘serendipitous’, as both the Citi organisation and Dr Ava Brown came together to share their commonalities and work together to move progress forward for women around the world.
